About Course

Step By Step Academy provides a school readiness program that constructs a solid foundation for later learning that will assist your child to thrive academically and socially. Our school readiness program also goes beyond that. It empowers your child to develop self-confidence, independent skills, and the emotional stability children need through the promotion of healthy behaviours and a safe and enjoyable learning environment. Our school readiness program will also support your child to have a smooth transition into their early years of schooling.

What is included in our School Readiness Program :
– 60 minute school readiness session
– 10 sessions per a term
– Small group sessions
– Fine motor skill development
– Social well-being and development

Literacy (30 minutes)
– Introduction to THRASS
– Letter Formation
– Smart Foundation – SMART spelling program
– Letter recognition of upper and lower case letters
– Encouraging reading and introduction to a comprehensive range of texts.
– Expressing and developing ideas
– Text structure and organisation
– Phonics and word knowledge
– Interacting with others
– Speaking and listening

Numeracy (30 minutes)

– Numbers and place value
– Patterns and algebra
– Using units of measurement
– Money and financial mathematics
– Shapes
– Location and transformation
– Statistics and probability
